Local-first software
Applications that keep their primary workflow and data usable on the user’s machine rather than depending on a remote service.
Projects
- AI Customer Support CouncilA self-hosted internal admin console for synthetic B2B support intake and triage, built as a technical-assessment deliverable for Valsoft Corporation. It is not a customer-facing platform.
- REE Personal Finance TrackerA Flutter desktop personal-finance application for multi-wallet transactions, subscriptions, debts, savings goals, and local insights, with local SQLite storage.
- JunoA personal and household finance tracker for the Linux desktop and iPhone, built in Flutter. It is local-first, with optional Supabase sync between devices, and it is the new version of my earlier finance app, REE.
Writing
- Building a local-first AI support triage councilAn internal support workflow where an LLM proposes structure, deterministic rules enforce policy, and a human keeps the final say.
- Designing an offline-first personal finance desktop appREE treats personal finance as a private desktop workflow: fast entry, local storage, and enough structure to understand where money moves.
- Rebuilding my finance app around local-first syncJuno keeps the data on the device first and syncs only if you ask. Most of the work went into making that boring and safe.
